A summer night out!
Day 5 ~ July Blogging Challenge
Whenever I hear a good beat, you better bet I’m the first one to get up on the dance floor. There’s something about wearing a good pair of heels and dancing the night away that I can never get enough of! Last night was no different, one of my student’s that I teach in dance had her birthday at a very fun reception hall.
I remember not being in the best mood, and I was having a lot of anxiety. As I got ready, straightened my hair, put on a cute summer dress, and my favorite pair of heels, I realized that only I can determine my mood, and I can’t let outside influencers effect that.
My mom, and I were out the door and on our way. Before we got out of the car, I was a little anxious, so what did I do? I took a few selfies, put on a good song and took a deep breath. The night ended up being SO much fun! We danced the night away to fantastic music, and great company.
As the night dwindled down, I forgot all about some of the stresses that were going on around me. I could have let my depression take over and my night would have been ruined. Let’s be real…A year ago I would have stayed in my room and not have gotten out of bed. Since then, I have learned coping skills, and have become a stronger mentally, which allows me to handle certain triggers that arise. It’s not always easy to fight anxiety and depression, and most of the time it is an uphill battle. But the best thing you can do, is keep telling yourself that “you’re okay”, “everything is going to be okay”, and no matter what, keep your head up and not let depression win. It is extremely heart wrenching and difficult to push through and carry on, but sometimes it’s the only choice we have.
Because I had a blast I wanted to share my OOTN with you guys!

Shoes ~ Jessica Simpson’s. These are my favorite heels hands down. They are nude so they go with everything and they are so beyond COMFORTABLE! I definitely recommend checking her line out.
Fashion aside, I had a blast even though there was a tornado going on in my brain. Sometimes all you need is good music, good company, and a great outfit you can feel confident in.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!! More blog posts coming this week. Be sure to follow along for the ride, and stay tuned!
